The Basics:
Married, mother of a toddler boy, I have a J.D. and practice estate planning, but mostly am dedicated to my online business, www.ForTheFit.com (a specialty retailer dedicated to finding fashionable, off-the-rack clothes for shorter men, under 5′9″). I was born and raised in Miami, schooled in Washington, D.C., Berlin, Germany & St. Petersburg, Florida, lived in Tampa, Florida for a while and then moved to Orlando nearly 2 years ago.
Some Fun Food(ie) Facts about me:
1) I didn’t really start “exploring” food intensely until I met my now husband- we started this foodie journey together on a trip to Seattle and Vancouver which opened our minds (and mouths!) to a wondorous new world of delightful food.
2) I plan entire vacation itineraries around the restaurants we’ll visit (monuments and museums- they’re kind of an afterthought to be honest).
3) Pounds gained since I took up this hobby? It has fluctuated between 5 & 10! Not bad for someone who schedules 2 dinners a night (see vacation itineraries, #1, above- hey if there are more restaurants than days on your trip, what else are you supposed to do?).
4) Most favorite city for dining? Tough call- Seattle, Washington or Vancouver, Canada (if you push me- I’d probably have to pick the latter).
5) Least favorite? Lutz, Florida
6) Favorite Restaurant of All Time? Lumiere (Vancouver, Canada) – oh, but there are sooo many honorable mentions and best-ofs! You’ll have to read the blog for more.
7) I couldn’t live without… Dessert (anything really- except rice pudding, and the list below)
8 ) Turn offs? I don’t like coconut, banana or raisins (though oddly, dishes containing these ingredients always intrigue me- they sound so tropical and good!); and I won’t eat anything “slimy” (no mussels, clams, or the like!)
9) Worst thing I’ve ever eaten? I hate to admit it, but it was one of the courses served on a dinner at my favorite restaurant of all time- they served a frothy, fois gras, cappuccino concoction- truly terrible, IMO.
10) Farthest I’ve traveled for food? Barcelona, Spain (Hubby and I wanted a fix of authentic Tapas! We were not dissappointed =) )
